Senior Administrator Vacancy

12/04/202211/07/2023

Permanent | £20,444 to £28,226 | Nottingham, NG13 8AL

Apply Here

Are you a Senior Administrator who enjoys customer-facing project work? Do you relish learning opportunities and daily variety? Are you looking for leadership responsibility, career progression potential, and flexible working options?

If you’d be satisfied with an eyes-down, desk-bound data-driven Administrator role, this isn’t the position for you. Read on if you’re motivated by the prospect of playing a key go-to role overseeing all manner of community-focused projects and tasks.

Bingham Town Council is moving forwards with a new Clerk, a new culture, and new opportunities. Working with an Improvements Board, the Council is at the start of a new and exciting chapter, with a host of progressive projects developing a market town steeped in community spirit.

In this role, no two days will be the same; our Administrator job duties are far from mundane. A local hub for outlying villages, Bingham has a bright and busy future inclusive of a new town pavilion, new play parks, new homes, and renowned beer and classic car festivals.

Interested in…?

  •  A standout LGPS pension featuring a 20.2% employer contribution
  •  Learning opportunities – training courses and support from the Town Clerk
  •  Hybrid and flexible working options (around core hours) to suit you
  •  22 days’ annual leave, with bank holidays and three days at Christmas on top

No previous experience in local government is required. Supporting the Clerk, you will apply proven Administrator and customer service pedigree. The first point of contact for a small team of administrators, you will be trained in taking the lead on all aspects of council office administration.

The Clerk has experienced your position, previously, and will be on hand to sign off on legal matters and problematic issues. You will be a point of leadership for fielding incoming enquiries, but this is a service-focused position as opposed to being a line manager.

Your day-to-day work will see you trained up to play an active front-line role inclusive of responding to public enquiries and phone calls, preparing and recording agendas and meeting minutes, and data-related tasks via our accounts system.

The Requirements…

  • At least three years of customer-facing experience
  • Experience dealing with a wide range of people
  • A generalist; experience in a variety of admin functions/tasks
  • IT proficiency; comfortable using Word and Excel, daily
  • Letter writing; writing skills proficient for professional, formal letters

Whether it’s from working in sales, retail, and/or a call centre, you need to have examples to give of managing tricky customer service situations. We are looking for a composed and confident professional who enjoys variety, learning opportunities, and problem-solving.

This is a full-time position (37 hours per week); however, the core (office) hours are 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday. Additional hours can be flexible (in terms of time and location) to suit. The morning start time, if necessary, is also adaptable to specific individual circumstances.

The Next Step…

Click apply – and then look for a follow-up email, which will be automatically sent to you. Please check your junk/spam folder if necessary. Respond to this email, as advised, to complete your job application.

Wychwood Road Play Area

26/03/2022

Residents will have noted the missing swings at the Wychwood Road Play Area. A repair was scheduled to take place this week, but whilst on site additional work is required to secure the swing sets on the site. We understand with the warming temperatures this will be a disappointment to residents and the Council will be working with the contractors to arrange the necessary work as the earliest opportunity.
