How to report an incident

999 — the emergency number, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call from a mobile or landline. If you can’t speak or answer questions and we suspect you may be in danger, we can make further enquiries to recontact and/or trace you. British Sign Language users can report a crime through our video relay service, where an interpreter will help.

101 — the non-emergency number, also available 24/7. Use it to report things like a stolen car, damaged property, suspected drug use or dealing, or a minor traffic accident. If you have a hearing or speech impairment, use our textphone service on 18001 101.

Live chat — available 7am to 10pm, seven days a week, to report crime or get advice and information.

Report online — report non-emergency matters, get general advice, and find details of your neighbourhood policing team.
