A temporary road closure will be in place on the A46 between Winthorpe and Syston Roundabout, from Monday, 6th October 2025 until Monday, 1oth November 2025. This is to enable the upgrading of the current lighting to LEDs. The new LED lighting will be more energy efficient and require less maintenance in the future.
Work will be carried out overnight, between 8pm and 6am.
To ensure the work is carried out safely, the Highways Agency will work under a combination of slip road and lane closures. Unless otherwise indicated, work will be completed over 1 night.
The initial programme of works is below, for further updates and diversions please visit their website https://nationalhighways.co.uk/our-roads/east-midlands/east-and-west-midlands-led-roadside-lighting-upgrades which will be updated at regular intervals.
