Mayor Cllr Tony Wallace is supported by the Deputy Mayor Cllr Wayne Stapleton for the 2025/2026 Civic Year

Bingham and District Audio Magazine

09/02/2026

Cllr Wallace has chosen Bingham and District Audio Magazine as the Mayors Charity for the Civic Year. Councillor Wallace said

“I am immensely proud to support the audio magazine. I met many of the groups members and volunteers at their 50th celebration last autumn, they are a lovely group of caring people. The magazine provides a lifeline for local people who are visually impaired, older or find it difficult to get about. I have personal experience of the type of service they provide. My wife’s grandmother, when she was no longer able to travel unaccompanied to her local shops, relied very much on her audio magazine to keep up to date with her community, friends and the local news”

The Bingham & District Audio Magazine (BDAM) has a team of volunteers who produce a free monthly programme of local news, interviews and talks on CD and podcast. BDAM is a registered charity that was set up in 1985 to provide a magazine for local people who have a visual impairment, restricted mobility, or older people who wish to stay in touch with their community.

BDAM was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2011.

Bingham and District Audio Magazine relies solely on donations to fund their operations. If you would like to make a donation, would like a CD or have a story to tell You can visit their website at: https://www.bdam.org.uk/
