Lloyds Bank have been granted a license for a mobile branch to continue providing a banking services to Bingham residents. Beginning on the 14th of May, the mobile branch will be available in Bingham Market Place and will run on Mondays (10.00am through 12.30pm) and Wednesdays (10.00am through 2.30pm).
Rushcliffe Borough Council have placed recycling bins for food and drink cartons (Tetra Pak) and paper coffee cups at Lidl Supermarket on Chapel Lane in order to allow these items, which are not suitable for the blue bins, to be collected and recycled.

Our Civic Awards aim to recognise Bingham residents, or groups who have done something exemplary which deserves to be recognised because of its benefit to the local community, or which is a good demonstration of high ideals, behaviour, great acts of kindness, dedication, or effort and achievement that bring credit upon the town of Bingham.
The Civic Awards use an ‘open’ nomination scheme. This means that anyone can nominate a resident or group within Bingham for an award.
There are not separate categories of awards or set number of awards in any specific year. The criteria below are not prescriptive, but simply guidance to help identify possible reasons why a nominee should be put forward.
A young person or group who have made a positive contribution to the local community or demonstrated exceptional community spirit and civic responsibility.
Excellence in fields, not normally awarded in other ways; acts of bravery, kindness in helping others, outstanding care for others or improving their community.
An individual who, over a long period has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the community and those who live, work or learn in Bingham. This could include volunteering, community work, helping neighbours or carrying out exceptional deeds spanning a lifetime.
Individuals or groups based in Bingham who have made a positive contribution to the local community, people who make an extra effort to bring the community together or those who go out of their way to help others or a charity in their own time.
Those who make an outstanding contribution to the community; whether it’s popping in on a neighbour every day, organising or supporting community groups or events, or improving the locality for the benefit of everyone.
Those who have made a significant difference to the conservation and protection of Bingham and its surrounding area’s natural environment.
Those people who work to celebrate or protect the environment we live in.
Someone who champions recycling, is passionate about protecting and conserving the environment or who is involved with an environmental project in Bingham.
Work in the arts in a voluntary or professional capacity for anyone who has made an outstanding contribution within Bingham.
Imaginative work in any of the arts, such as drama, dance, music literature, the visual arts and crafts including photography and/or demonstrated good practice in the organisation of arts, projects and events. The nominee may be the star of the show or who works behind the scenes, helping to make it happen.
Outstanding sporting endeavour, whether playing, organising or contributing to local sports development or coaching.
Someone who has overcome adversity such as illness or disability to achieve a personal goal.
Someone who has given their time to working behind the scenes in Bingham’s local sporting clubs and groups.

Following the deadline date all the nominations will be passed to the Civic Awards Panel who will meet in July to draw up a shortlist of finalists and select the winners.
The Civic Awards Panel is chaired by the Mayor and includes Councillors from the Community and Environment Committee.
The winners of the Civic Awards will be announced on Friday, September the 21st.
