Bingham Market Place – Signing Works for Speed limit and One Way

Bingham Town Council have been updated that the work in Bingham Market Place to add permanent signage for the one-way system and speed limit, are due to commence on Monday 25 April 2022.

There may be some localised footway closures to enable the installation of the new signing and work will not take on Thursday due to the market. The laying of the new lines and buff coloured surfacing is expected to take place on Sunday morning to minimise disruption to local businesses.

This Administrator role is a part-time position for between 12 and 16 hours per week. Monday and Tuesday mornings are required, focused on the core hours of 9am to 1pm. We will accommodate the circumstances of the right person for the role, whether flexibility is needed for kids or pets etc.

Joining a small team of four, your role as Part-time Administrator will help ensure all aspects of our work are recorded and filed correctly. The first point of call for picking up the phone, you’ll be involved in a variety of admin tasks and public service subject areas.

Daily duties include arranging bookings for funerals and function rooms, accounts system data entry, and administrative assistance to ground staff. Far from being deluged in data and limited to the mundane, you’ll have opportunities to speak up and contribute, and no two days will be the same.

No previous experience in local government is required. Supporting the Clerk, you will apply proven Administrator and customer service pedigree. The first point of contact for a small team of administrators, you will be trained in taking the lead on all aspects of council office administration.

The Clerk has experienced your position, previously, and will be on hand to sign off on legal matters and problematic issues. You will be a point of leadership for fielding incoming enquiries, but this is a service-focused position as opposed to being a line manager.

Your day-to-day work will see you trained up to play an active front-line role inclusive of responding to public enquiries and phone calls, preparing and recording agendas and meeting minutes, and data-related tasks via our accounts system.

The Requirements…

  • At least three years of customer-facing experience
  • Experience dealing with a wide range of people
  • A generalist; experience in a variety of admin functions/tasks
  • IT proficiency; comfortable using Word and Excel, daily
  • Letter writing; writing skills proficient for professional, formal letters

Whether it’s from working in sales, retail, and/or a call centre, you need to have examples to give of managing tricky customer service situations. We are looking for a composed and confident professional who enjoys variety, learning opportunities, and problem-solving.

This is a full-time position (37 hours per week); however, the core (office) hours are 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday. Additional hours can be flexible (in terms of time and location) to suit. The morning start time, if necessary, is also adaptable to specific individual circumstances.
