Fallen Trees due to Storm Ali

Thank-you to our community who reported fallen trees following yesterday’s high winds from Storm Ali. The most significant, is a tree which has fallen and blocked the Tithby Road steps down to the Linear Walk. Signs have been placed at the top of the steps, at the bottom of the steps and at Nottingham Road informing those who use the Linear Walk, that the steps are closed. The tree surgeon is due on site on Monday 24 September to move the tree, however, the steps will remain closed so that they can be further assessed and ultimately repaired. The website will be updated once the steps re-open.

Our ground staff were out yesterday as the high winds picked up and again early this morning inspecting the Town Council’s tree portfolio. They are currently out and about working to remove a couple of small trees and larger branches which have come down. They will continue to regularly inspect over the next couple of days as more high winds are forecast.
