Cemetery closed due to high winds

The cemetery will remain closed due to high winds. The current forecast (as of Friday 15 March 2019) is that the high winds will become a fresh breeze on Sunday 17 March 2019, if that is the case the cemetery will re-open on Sunday. Notices at the entrance to the cemetery advise that the cemetery is closed, these notices will be removed once the high winds abate.

Criminal Damage to Trees

There have been several incidents over the last few weeks of trees been deliberately cut down and left to fall. This has taken place on the Linear Walk and on the Wynhill Playing Fields.

A report has been made to the Police and this has been classed as criminal damage. If anyone has any information, please contact 101 quoting incident number 168-11032019 or the Town Council on 01949 831445.

Volunteer to become a Tree Warden

Misuse of Tetra Pack Recycling in Bingham

Refuse sacks containing food waste, cardboard and dog mess has been placed in the new Tetra Pack Recycling container in Lidl’s car park. This is making emptying of these bins extremely difficult and leaving the bin full for those using the bin correctly. Out of six locations, Bingham is the only area currently experiencing this problem. If the increased costs incurred for the emptying continues, Bingham may risk losing this facility so please use it correctly.

Carnarvon Play Park Refurbishments

Work to refurbish the Carnarvon play park (off Orchard Avenue, near Aldi) will start on the 25th of February, with contractors scheduled to be on site for approximately one month. The green area will remain open but the play area itself will be fenced off and closed to the public. It is expected that the new play area will be open to the public in time for Easter.
