PRESS RELEASE: Bingham delivers its second playpark refurbishment

21/12/202004/06/2021

Bingham Town Council, in conjunction with the Bingham Community Parks Project (BCPP) announce the successful delivery of a second play park refurbishment project.

Building on the success of our first play park refurbishment in 2019, Orchard Park, Wychwood Road has now been completed and is ready for the public to enjoy. A competitive tender process was undertaken late in 2019, and Kompan were selected as the winner based on design, play value, inclusivity and price.

Paul Moskwa, Chair of Bingham Community Parks project, said “I’m grateful to FCC Communities Foundation for providing us with the funds to deliver another great play facility to the people of Bingham. Having undertaken our first park project last year, which the Town Council fully funded, we were keen to secure external funding partners. I’m delighted that FCC Communities Foundation selected our project to receive a significant grant for Wychwood Road. With additional support from Nottinghamshire County Council’s LIS (Local Improvement Scheme) grant, that is two fantastic state of the art play facilities for Bingham, which without our funders wouldn’t be possible”

FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects from funds donated by FCC Environment through the Landfill Communities Fund.

Cheryl Raynor, FCC Community Foundations local grant manager says: “It’s wonderful to see something we have funded finally open and ready to make such a difference to children in the local area. We are always happy to consider grant applications for projects that benefit local communities, and this is a great example of what can be achieved.”
